Research Interests and Expertise

Nila Bala's research focuses on children’s rights and the criminal justice system, as well as emerging technologies. Before entering law teaching, she developed criminal justice policy for the Policing Project at New York University School of Law and prior to that, R Street Institute. Bala also previously served as an assistant public defender in Baltimore, Maryland.
